Maurice Ingraham


OXFORD – Maurice J. Ingraham, 71, of Oxford passed away unexpectedly on Aug. 31, 2007 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Johnson City. 
He was born on Sept. 30, 1935 in Oxford the son of the late Maurice E. and Bertha (Meade) Ingraham. On May 5, 1956 in the Coventry Methodist Church he married Barbara Palmer, who survives.
Besides his wife, Barbara, he is survived by his children, Debra and Gerald Kuhn of Binghamton, and Lisa and Shem Shirazi of Clermont, Fla.; his grandchildren, Jennifer Kuhn of Bensalem, Pa., Derrick Kuhn of Mooresville, N.C., and Rachael Shirazi of Clermont, FL; his sisters, Joyce Mulvey and Melanie Palmer of Oxford; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.  He was predeceased by his brother Robert on Aug. 28, 2007.
He was a graduate of Oxford Academy and Central School, Class of 1955. He worked on electrical construction, including the 765 KV power line from Utica to Massena, for the IBEW 1249 in Syracuse. He was a former member of the Oxford Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of the Loyal Order of Moose in Norwich and Crescent City, Fla. for over 40 years. He was an avid arrowhead hunter and collected bottles and electrical insulators. He loved to be outdoors in his yard and garden and working in the woods.
 Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. John Martin, pastor of the Oxford United Methodist Church officiating.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Tuesday from 5 to 8 p.m.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Fire Department Emergency Squad or the Oxford United Methodist Church.
