Robert Ingraham Sr.


OXFORD – Robert Ingraham Sr., 70, of Oxford passed away unexpectedly Aug. 28, 2007 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich. 
He was born on April 18, 1937 in Oxford the son of the late Maurice and Bertha (Meade) Ingraham. On Feb. 26, 1972 he married Barbara Bacoon.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara of Oxford; his children, Sandy and Tim Stoddard, Robert, Jr. and Alicia Ingraham, Shane and Melissa Ingraham, Donald and Tammy Ingraham all of Oxford, Sherri and Pat Bousson of Coventry, Teresa Davidson of Tucson, Ariz., and Wade and Jackie Ingraham of Tucson, Ariz.; his brother, Maurice and Barbara Ingraham; and his sisters, Joyce Mulvey and Melanie Palmer all of Oxford; and his aunt, Doris Meade of Greene. Seventeen grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren and several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Bob attended Oxford Academy and Central School.  He was a US Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and a long time member of Fort Hill Post #376, American Legion.  He retired from the IBEW Local 1249 in Syracuse after many years of service in high line construction.  He was an honorary member of the Oxford Fire Department and a life member of the Oxford Rod & Gun Club.  He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose in Crescent City, Fla.  He loved to hunt and enjoyed playing cards.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St., Oxford with the Rev. John Martin, pastor of the Oxford United Methodist Church officiating. Full military honors will be accorded by members of Fort Hill Post #376, American Legion.
Friends may call at the Behe Funeral Home, Oxford on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Members of the Oxford Fire Department will conduct a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the funeral home on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford Fire Department Emergency Squad or the Oxford Fire Department.
