Diane Harrington


NORWICH – Diane D. Harrington passed away at home on Aug. 25, 2007 after a long courageous battle with cancer.
Born on Feb. 19, 1948 in Cohoes, Diane was the daughter of William P. and Margaret M. (Lent) Dillon.  She was a graduate of Keveny Memorial Academy and earned her bachelor’s degree in medical technology from the Albany College of Pharmacy in 1969.  She has been a resident of Norwich since 1975.  Diane was a medical technologist at Chenango Memorial hospital for many years and has been the Laboratory Manager at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton since 1991. She was a talented seamstress, wonderful hostess and excellent swing dance partner. She loved planting pansies, driving her little red MG and playing with her grandchildren.
On April 19, 1969, in Cohoes, Diane married Byron M. Harrington, who survives.  She is also survived by two daughters Shawn Markham (Brian) of Harrodsburg, Kentucky and Erin Pelletier (Matt) of Kennebunk, Maine; five grandchildren, Lake, Pierce and Sage Markham and Emma and Abigail Pelletier; one sister Donna (Rick) Barbour of Clifton Park; mother-in-law Mary Harrington Utter; sister-in-law Dorothy Wilsey Dann of Peterboro; and many nieces, nephews and friends. 
She was a very supportive mother and wife, treating everyone she knew and met with great kindness and respect. She was much loved by all her grandchildren.
Memorial services for Diane will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Wilson Funeral Home. Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 1 to 3 and 6 to 8 p.m.
