Donald Pugh
NORWICH – Donald L. Pugh, 75, Springfield, Missouri, passed away at home on Saturday, July 1, 2006, of cancer. Born on April 5, 1931, in Norborne, Missouri, to the late Raymond L. Pugh and Irene Gertrude (Schifferdecker) Pugh.
Donald graduated from the University of Missouri with three degrees; a B.S., M.S., and Ph.D., all in chemistry. He was employed by Norwich Eaton Pharmaceuticals in Norwich, New York, as a research biochemist for 30 years. Upon retirement in 1994, Donald and his wife of 53 years, Anne, moved to Springfield, Missouri, to be closer to family. He was a longtime member of Christ Evangelical Lutheran Church, Springfield, Missouri, where he was active in the choir.
On May 3, 1953, Donald married his high school sweetheart, Trudis Anne Patton, at the Methodist Church, Norborne, Missouri.x
Survivors include: his wife, Anne; son, Aaron L. Pugh and wife Cindy, of Little Rock, Arkansas; daughter, Lisa A. Pogue and husband Peter, of Carmel, Indiana; five grandchildren: Fred, Amanda, and Drew Ensminger, of Little Rock, Arkansas; Hayley and Merrit Pogue, of Carmel, Indiana.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Messiah Lutheran Church, Springfield, Missouri, with internment following in Fairhaven Cemetery, Norborne, Missouri.
