Charles Bunting


NORWICH – Charles D. Bunting, 92, of Dan Main Road, Norwich, passed away Aug.6, 2007 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich. 
He was born on July 30, 1915 in Colesville, the son of the late Henry and Rose (Martin) Bunting. On March 3, 1940 in Oxford he married Edith Truesdell, who survives.
Besides his wife, Edith, he is survived by his children, Carole and Richard Landers of Willet, Barbara and William Root of Norwich, William and Joanne Bunting of Somerset, Pa. and James Bunting of Pitcher; his grandchildren, Darrell Landers, Douglas Landers, Terri Boshell, Timothy Stoddard, Tracey Evans, Tamara Yacano, Thomas Stoddard, Chris Bunting, Colleen Bunting, and Lori O’Donnell; 14 great grandchildren, including Lily Bean; his sisters, Mildred Reynolds of Oxford and Myrtle Brown of Connecticut. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
 He was a carpenter with the Union in Binghamton for many years and also operated his own dairy farm. He had worked at the Civilian Conservation Corps in Idaho. He had also worked as a greeter at Wal-Mart and as maintenance supervisor at Grace View Manor. He enjoyed woodworking. He was a great story teller and enjoyed reading, and could cite poetry. He loved to visit with his friends and family. He was a Civil War enthusiast.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at the Kennedy Funeral Home, Inc., 21 N. Chenango St., Greene.  Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery, Afton.
Friends may call at the Kennedy Funeral Home, Greene on Thursday from 11 a.m. to the time of the service. 
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.
