Lisa Anne Diamond

BALDWINSVILLE – Lisa Anne Diamond, “Nana” 49, died on Thursday at home with her loving family at her side. She was born in El Paso, Texas and resided in Baldwinsville , NY most of her life. She was co-owner of Jim’s Meat Market in the 1980s and current owner of Save-A-Lot Stores in Norwich and Oneida, NY with her husband, Jim. Lisa had worked for the Baldwinsville School System as a Nurse’s Aide at Baker High School and Ray Middle School. She enjoyed working with children and had been a girl scout leader. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church in Baldwinsville and was a charter member of Msgr. Leo M. Finn Columbiettes.
Affectionately known as Nana to her grandchildren, Lisa spoiled them as Grandma’s do. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.
Lisa’s infectious smile was evident throughout her entire life. During her almost 2 year battle with brain cancer, her smile seemed to ease the pain of those who cared for her in her final days as she prepared for heaven. As Lisa was being treated at Duke University Brain Cancer Center in North Carolina and Hematology Oncology Associates of CNY, under the care of Dr. Santo Difino and his wonderful staff, she was grateful for the excellent care she received and often embarrassed by the attention she was given. Again, it was Lisa’s warm smile that seemed to comfort those around her.
Lisa is survived by her husband of 29 years, James, Sr.; son James, Jr (Tina) of Cazenovia; daughter, Nicole (Jim) Delaney of Norwich; son Nicholas and daughter, Danielle both of Baldwinsville; grandchildren, Haylee and Tyler Delaney; her parents, F. Terrance and Louise Sears; a sister, Kimberly (Tim) Engels and their daughter, Casey; sister, Michele (Stewart) Haney and their daughter, Samantha and son Chris; cousins, Gary (Linda) Hughes of Arizona and Deborah (Dirk) Neuhof of Vermont and her aunt, Shirley Jaszurski of Amsterdam, NY.
Calling hours are 4-8 p.m. Friday at Falardeau Funeral Home, Baldwinsville. Funeral services are 9:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home, 93 Downer St. and 10 a.m. in St. Mary’s Church. Burial in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Baldwinsville.
Contributions may be made to Hospice of CNY, 990 7th North Street, Liverpool, NY 13088-6148.
“There are no words to describe the love in her life”
