Frinda Faulkner


SHERBURNE – Frinda P. Faulkner, 71, of Classic Street, passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2007 at her home.
She was born March 14, 1936 in Sherburne, a daughter of Elton J. and Helen Reed Palmer. She was a graduate of Earlville High School in 1955 and attended Oneonta State College. On June 11, 1956, Frinda was united in marriage to Frank K. Faulkner in Oneonta. Mrs. Faulkner had been the administrator of the Pratt Newton Home in Sherburne for 25 years, and continued to work there in other capacities for an additional 5 years. She was a wonderful and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose family was her life. Frinda was an avid Yankees fan and loved doing crossword puzzles. She was fond of all animals, especially her beloved cats, and enjoyed bird watching and feeding peanuts to the squirrels.
Mrs. Faulkner was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Sherburne. She was a Past Matron of the O.E.S. #631 of Sherburne, and was currently appointed officer.
Surviving are her husband, Frank; two daughters and sons-in-law, Rosemary and Larry Barker of Sherburne; Susan and Frederick Hill of Norwich; her mother-in-law, Hilda Faulkner of Sherburne; a brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Karen Schroer of Chambersburg, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Mickey Skurat of Oxford, Conn.; her grandchildren, Skip, Kristal and Cory Barker of Sherburne; Marinda and Karlie Hill of Norwich; step-grandchildren, Mark and Amy Hill of New Berlin, and Todd Hill of New York City; a great-grandchild, Nikita Crumb; and several nieces and nephews. A sister, Phyllis Skurat predeceased her in 2005.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the First United Methodist Church, Chapel St., Sherburne.
Burial will be private at the convenience of the family.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 South Main St., Sherburne on Wednesday (today) from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.
There will be an O.E.S. service at the funeral home at 7 p.m. today.
In lieu of flowers, Frinda’s family has requested that donations be made to the Sherburne Emergency Squad, Sherburne, NY 13460.
