SIDNEY – Anna C. Sawyer, 82, of Sidney passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning July 10, 2007 at A.O. Fox Nursing Home in Oneonta. 
Anna was born on Oct. 4, 1924, daughter of the late Lee and Ida (Tootel) Cole in New Berlin. 
On Sept. 25, 1949, Anna married Samuel Sawyer in Susquehanna, PA.  He predeceased her in February 1995.  Anna was formerly employed as a proofer for NBT Bank of Norwich. She was a member of Sidney United Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary Charles L. Jacobi Post 183. 
Anna is survived by her Son, Charles Van Steinburg of North Norwich and his children, Charles, Martin, Alan, Raymond, Laureen, Noelle and William,
son and daughter-in-law Raymond and Karen Sawyer of Philadelphia and their children Kelsey and Kyle, daughter and son-in-law Grace and LaVerne Finch of Mt. Upton and their children Arnold and Angie. Brother Raymond Cole of Norwich, Sister Virginia Anderson of Norwich, Several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three sisters, Mary Ashcraft, Jean Chase, and Bernice Grant, and one brother, Lee Cole.
 A graveside memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, July 21, at the Prospect Hill Cemetery in Sidney.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Anna’s name may be made to the Sidney Emergency Squad.
