Henry Farley


NORWICH – Henry R. Farley, 81, of Norwich, passed away on Monday, July 5, 2007 at the James G. Johnston Memorial Nursing Home in Johnson City.
Born Aug. 12, 1925 in Norwich, Henry was the son of Raymond T. and Rosemary E. (O’Gilby) Farley.  He graduated from St. Paul’s School, Norwich High School and Albany State College.  Following his education he taught physics and chemistry at Afton Central School where he also coached basketball and baseball from 1949 until his retirement in 1982.
Henry was a lifelong member of St. Paul’s Church in Norwich.  He loved sports, and was a devoted follower of Syracuse University basketball and football, and the New York Yankees.  He was a loyal fan of all Norwich Purple Tornado sports too.
Henry is survived by a nephew, John McGraw of Easton, Pa. and his children Sean, Michael and Margaret; a niece, Donna McManmon of Clay and her children Timothy and Robert as well as several cousins.  He was predeceased by a brother, Donald Farley and a sister, Rosemary McGraw, and a niece, Kate McGraw.
A Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Paul’s Church in Norwich.  Friends are invited to call at the Marian Chapel of St. Paul’s on Friday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service.
