Janice Eaton


SMETHPORT, Pa: Janice W. Eaton, 61, of Champlin Hill Rd., formerly of Randallsville, passed away Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at Wilson Memorial Hospital, Binghamton.
She was born Aug. 5, 1945 in Syracuse, a daughter of the late Frank and Geraldine Bumpus Streiff and received her education in Fabius schools. Janice had been married to Michael “Mike” Doroshenko, and later married Frederick “Rick” Eaton. Most recently, Janice was a nurses’ aide at the Lake View Nursing Home in Smethport. She had previously owned and operated a craft store “Country Charms.”  She had held managerial positions at several area stores, had worked at Community Memorial Hospital in Hamilton, and was a dental hygienist for Dr. Gibson. Janice was a member of the D.A.R. and enjoyed gardening and crafting.
Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Doroshenko of Hamilton; two daughters, Judy Cappadonia of Sherburne and Jennifer Eaton of Smethport, Pa.; her sisters and brothers-in-law, Freida Evans of Tully; Naomi and Don Stroup, Marion Murphy and Gene Eade, Terry and Jim Herlihy, all of Fabius; Bonnie and Greg Downs of DeRuyter; brother-in-law, Herman “Buster” Van Hassel of Plymouth; six grandchildren, Michael and Jordan Doroshenko, Ashley and Abbey Cappadonia, Christian and Brittney Eaton; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by two infant daughters, Audrey Lee and Valerie Kay Doroshenko; a sister, Claire Van Hassel and a brother, Carl Streiff.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville, followed by interment in the Earlville Cemetery.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon until 2 p.m. prior to the service.
