Lynn Manwarren Jr.

SOUTH PLYMOUTH – Lynn Manwarren Jr., 78, long-time resident of South Plymouth, passed away Monday morning, June 18, 2007 in Upstate Medical Center of Syracuse, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Lynn was born to Lynn and Estella (Sayles) Manwarren Sr., in McDonough, on Feb. 3, 1929. Growing up in the McDonough area, he attended school in Oxford. At the young age of 16, Lynn “misquoted his age” to enlist in the military, and did serve his country until his misquoting was discovered and he was given his honorable discharge. On July 4, 1961 in Sherburne, he married Janice Marvin, who passed away Jan. 29, 1993. Returning to the McDonough area, Lynn spent 13 years as an employee of the Gladding Company in South Otselic, but was essentially a self-employed logger, dealing in pulpwood and firewood. All together, he had lived for well over 40 years in South Plymouth, where he enjoyed spending time at his home. While not fond of crowds, he did look forward to the Manwarren Family reunions.
Lynn is survived by his children: James Manwarren and wife Helen of South Plymouth, Tammy Hamlin and husband Jerry of North Pharsalia, Cindy Uribe and husband Miguel of Pharsalia, and Roger Corgnell and wife Karen of Greene; and by his brothers: Lloyd Manwarren, and Emmett “Ike” Manwaren and his wife Thelma, all of Norwich. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Samantha Haley, Brian Sheleen, Cora Manwarren, Sydni and Whitney Hamlin, and Miguel “Mic”, Manny, and Janice Uribe, and by nieces and nephews. Lynn was predeceased by his wife Janice, his son Douglas, his sisters: Pearl Thompson, Bernice Parker, and two who died in infancy; and by his brothers: Wilson, Ernest, Russell, Francis, and Grover Manwarren.
Funeral services for Lynn will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford of Norwich will officiate. Interment will follow in the South Side Cemetery of Plymouth. Friends are invited to call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 6 to 9 p.m.
