William Sherman


PLYMOUTH – William N. Sherman, 78, a long-time resident of Plymouth, passed away May 11, 2007, at Chenango Memorial Hospital.
William was born Feb. 23,1929, the 6th of 14 children to Burt and Hattie Sherman. He received his early education in Cortland before joining the Army and serving in the Korean War, where he received the Purple Heart.
In 1951, William married Bonnie L. (Stringham) Seymour. She predeceased him on May 30, 2001. William is survived by his son, Bill Sherman of Plymouth, Gary and Karen Seymour of Plymouth, Fred (Skip) and Linda Seymour, North Norwich, and foster daughter Ronnie and John Willis of Sherburne; 12 grandchildren and several great grandchildren; two sisters - Celia (Putt) and Loretta; five brothers - Charles, Robert, David, John, and Richard; along with several nieces and nephews.
Private funeral services were held for William on May 15, 2007 at the South Plymouth Cemetery.
Arrangements were by the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home.
