James Padgett


NEW BERLIN – James H. Padgett, 79, of New Berlin, passed away May 1, 2007 at the New York State Veterans Home in Oxford.
He was born Sept. 17, 1927 in the Town of Columbus, the son of Richard & Mary (Lottridge) Padgett. He spent his childhood in the Columbus area. James served in the U.S. Army during World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the New Berlin VFW Post 348. He was also a dairy farmer.
His wife, Dorothy Andrecheck Padgett, survives. James is also survived by a son, John Padgett of New Berlin; an adopted sister, Louise Swan, and cousins Helen Padgett Camp, Mary and David Bice, Ron Palmer Jr. and other nieces, nephews and Cousins. He is also survived by good friends Bud Lyon & Everett Huggins.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Dakin Funeral Home, New Berlin. Calling hours will be held from noon to 1 p.m. prior to the funeral service.
Interment will be in St. Andrew’s Cemetery, New Berlin.
Arrangements are by the Dakin Funeral Home LP, New Berlin.
