David Lee


NORWICH – David E. ‘Fuzzy’ Lee, 80, of Henry Street passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, April 8, 2007 in Miramar, Fla.
Born May 27, 1926 in Norwich, Fuzzy was the son of John C. and Mae Agnes (Flemming) Lee. Following graduation from Norwich High School, he attended the University of Miami and the University of Scranton. In 1962, Fuzzy graduated from the Postal Service Management Institute at Ithaca College. He served as the Postmaster in Norwich until his retirement in 1986. He was a member and past-president of the Broome-Chenango Postmasters and a member of the National Association of Postmasters. 
Always active in the Norwich community, Fuzzy was a Democratic Committeeman from 1958 to 1963 and Chairman from 1958 to 1961. He was also a past Chair of the Chenango County Democratic Party. At various times he served the Chenango Memorial Hospital Building Fund, Boy Scouts Troop 67 and the Chenango County Planning Advisory Board. He was a former member of the Norwich Board of Education and Board President from 1972 to 1976.  He was a life member of the New York state Congress of the Parents and Teachers Association. Fuzzy was also a member of the VFW and the Norwich Elks Lodge.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting during his leisure time.
On January 8, 1952, Fuzzy married Charlotte (Wnuk) Lee of Norwich, who survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Karin Muserallo and her husband, James, of Thomasville, Ga., a son, Robert Lee and his wife, Joanne, of Oxford and a daughter, Joan Morean, of Madison, Ala. Ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild also survive along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, John C. Lee, Jr. and William M. Lee and a sister, Mary Lee.
A Mass of Resurrection for Fuzzy will be held on Friday, April 13, 2007 at 1 p.m. at St. Paul’s Church. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Paul’s Cemetery.  Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m.
Contributions in memory of Fuzzy may be made to either the American Cancer Society or to the Friends of Bassett Hospital, 1 Atwell Road, Cooperstown, NY  13326.
