Vivian Vanduser


OXFORD - Vivian Harvey Jones VanDuser, 87, of Lake Como Road, Lake Como, NY, passed away April 6, 2007 at the Cortland Regional Medical Center. She was born November 17, 1919 in Oxford, the daughter of the late Harry & Beatrice Moore Harvey.
Vivian resided with her late husband Sherman at Lake Como for the past 25 years. She was employed by Smith Corona for many years retiring in the early 1980’s. In her earlier years, she enjoyed camping and boating with her family. In her later years, she enjoyed TV game shows, playing computer solitaire, and caring for her plants and flowers.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Betty & Melvin Bean of Moravia, Sherman “Sonny” & Linda VanDuser of Livingston Manor, Joan & Rollie Gorr of Livingston Manor, Douglas & Bunny Jones of Cortland, Darryl & Zola VanDuser of Charleston, S.C., Fred & Mary Ann VanDuser of Lake Como, daughter-in-law Diane VanDuser of Cortland along with grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Her legacy will be cherished and carried on by her family, and she will be missed dearly.
Vivian was predeceased by her first husband, Robert Jones, and their son, Richard Jones; second husband Sherman VanDuser and their son Winnie VanDuser; her parents, Beatrice & Harry Harvey; sister Thelma Horton; brothers Robert Harvey, Dale Harvey, and Durwood “Mickey” Harvey of Oxford.
Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Tuesday, April 10, with a service at 4 p.m. at the Wright-Beard Funeral Home, Inc., 9 Lincoln Ave., Cortland, NY 13045.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
