Randy Lee Prosser


SHERBURNE – Randy Lee Prosser, 43, of Sherburne, went to be with the Lord after an extended illness on April 2, 2007, surrounded by his wife, family, and friends.
Born July 10, 1963, in New Berlin, Randy grew up in Chenango County. He served his country in the U. S. Army, then returned to the area to make his home. Randy worked as a telecommunications installer for Comforce Telecom in Cortland, and was a member of the Smyrna Baptist Church. On May 20, 2006, in Norwich, Randy married Serena VanTine. Randy will forever be remembered as being a generous, loving, and caring person who loved fishing, hunting, and camping with his family and friends. Randy was also a fan of Rusty Wallace.
Randy leaves behind his wife, Serena Prosser; his daughters: Sarah, Corrie, Courtney, Mary Jo, and Desiree; his sons: Rusty, Dustynn, and Joseph; and grandchildren Kylee, Olivia, Walker, Jacob, Alexander, and Caiden. Also surviving are his mother and father, Reta and Clarence Head of Smyrna and Harry and Edith Prosser of Andes; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Robert and Donna of South Plymouth; sisters and their spouses: Anna and Dale Nelson, Valerie and Geritt Nelson, Vickie Head and Gary Foster, Angelia and Walter Crawford; brothers and their spouses: Walter and Cindy Prosser, Norman and Anna Prosser, Tim Prosser-Lila Adams, Corey and Lynn Prosser, Douglas and Becky Head, Kenneth and Mary Ann Head, and Larry Head. Randy is survived by his best friend, Brent Stone, as well as several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; two sisters-in-law, one brother-in-law, and many friends.
Funeral services for Randy will be held on Fri., April 6, at 1 p.m., from the Smyrna Baptist Church. The Rev. Dale Sanders, Pastor, will officiate. Friends are invited to call at the Smyrna Baptist Church on Friday from 11 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m.
Arrangements are by the R. J. Fahy Funeral Home.
