OXFORD – Evelyn Balcom Carroll, 90 of Oneida, formerly of Oxford passed away on March 29, 2007 at Oneida Healthcare Center, Oneida. 
She was born on March 25, 1917 in Norwich the daughter of the late Ira and Angelia (Joyner) Balcom. On Nov. 28, 1946 in Norwich she married Kenneth L. Carroll, who passed away on April 28, 1986. 
 Her children, Rennie Carroll of Oneida, Donn Carroll of Ithaca, Lanny Carroll of Cape Cod, and Laurie Carroll of Buffalo; her grandchildren, Evan Balcom Carroll, Adam Carroll, Jeffrey Carroll, and Shawn Carroll; and her brother, Leslie Balcom of Largo, Fla., survive her.  Several nieces and nephews also survive.
 Evelyn was a graduate of Norwich High School.  She was a member of the Daughter of the American Revolution and the Daughters of Founders and Patriots of America.  She was a member of the Oxford Birthday Club, the Travelers Book Club and the Oxford Historical Society.  She was a member of the Oxford United Methodist Church.  She operated The White Elephant Antique Store in Oxford for many years.  Following her retirement she became and avid quilter.
 Funeral services were held Monday at the Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main St, Oxford with the Rev. Allen C. Lang, pastor of the United Church of Oxford officiating.  Burial followed in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Norwich.
