Anne Lawrence


SHERBURNE – Anne L. Lawrence, 82, of Lawrence Road, passed away Friday March 30, 2007 at Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
She was born in Sherburne on Sept. 9, 1924 a daughter of the late Peter and Rosanna Doyle Lawrence and graduated from Sherburne High School in 1942. A life long area resident she was employed by the Village of Sherburne, as an assistant clerk and tax collector for over 39 years until her retirement in 2006. Anne was a member of St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church, where she served on the parish council and the finance committee. She was also a member of the Altar Rosary Society and the 300 Club. She was a member of the Chenango County Democratic Committee and the Craine Lake Association.
Surviving are her two sisters Mary T. Lawrence and Christine L. Cahill of Sherburne; two brothers and sister in law Raymond and Judy Lawrence and  James Lawrence of Sherburne and a sister in law Dorothy Lawrence also of Sherburne as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers Joseph, John and Bernard Lawrence and two sisters Catherine Lawrence and Margaret Boyer.
The funeral will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home 10 S. Main St., Sherburne and at 11 a.m. from St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church, E. State St., Sherburne where a mass of Christian burial will be celebrated. 
Interment will be held in St. Malachy’s Parish Cemetery, Sherburne
Friends are invited and may call Tuesday from 2-5 p.m. and Wednesday from 9- 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The rosary will be recited Tuesday at 1:45 p.m.
Contributions in Anne’s memory may be made to St. Malachy’s Roman Catholic Church or the Altar Rosary Society.
