NORWICH – Rose Wagner, 89, formerly of Norwich and most recently of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away March 20, 2007, at Jefferson Place in Louisville.
The daughter of Justin and Sophy Ulasz, Rose was born in Farrell, Pa., and later moved to New Jersey. She and Joseph Wagner Sr., who would be her loving husband for 55 years, were married in Hoboken on Jan. 5, 1946. Rose was the manager of a bank in New Jersey until 1977 when she retired, and she and Joe moved to Norwich. They built their house on the Heady’s Corners Road where they had a large flower garden and many bird feeders. Following Joe’s passing in 2001, Rose stayed a year alone in their home before moving to Louisville to be with her daughter, Susan.
Rose is survived by her son, Joseph Wagner and his wife Carol of Norwich, and her daughter, Susan Cogswell and her husband Frank of Louisville; by her grandchildren, Paul Wagner and Rosie Cogswell; and by two great-grandchildren, Brooke and Brandyn.
Interment in the spring will be in St. Paul’s Cemetery, at a time and date to be announced.
