NORWICH – James W. Constable, 63, died Wednesday, March 7, 2007 at his home in Goose Creek, S.C.
The only child of the late Walter James and Gertrude (Conklin) Constable, Jim was born Oct. 18, 1943 in Dearborn, Michigan; his childhood and young adult years were spent in Norwich. Jim joined the U.S. Navy and when he retired he went to work with Hillrom Corporation. He was an outdoorsman, an avid fisherman who enjoyed camping and canoeing.
He will be deeply missed by his wife of 44 years Virginia Butler Constable, son Bradley James Constable of Buckingham, Va., daughter Michelle Combahee, her husband Tim, and their daughters, Savanah and Ciara, all of Goose Creek.
The family will received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. March 9 at McAlister-Smith Funeral Home, 100 S. Goose Creek Blvd., Goose Creek, SC 29445. Funeral services weree held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 10 in the funeral home chapel followed by interment with military honors.
