NORWICH – Edward J. Beltz, 73, a native of Norwich, passed away Sunday, Feb. 11, 2007 at his home in Summerdale, Ala.
Edward retired from the USAF and Friendly Ice Cream Corporation in Wilbraham, Mass. Since retirement, he has enjoyed RV travel before settling down in Southern Alabama.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Doris A. Beltz; two sons, John D. Beltz of Castle Rock, Colo. and James D. Beltz of Virginia Beach, Va.; A daughter Debra A. Adams of Westfield, Mass.; eight grandchildren, Shawn E. Beltz of Louisville, Ky., Jennifer A. Beltz of Castle Rock, Colo., Crystal Sahr of Virginia Beach, Va., Katy Lynn Beltz of Virginia Beach, Va., Daniel Beltz of Virginia Beach, Va., Eric T. Adams of Westfield, Mass., Thomas J. Young of Westfield, Mass., Christopher W. Young of Westfield, Mass.; a great-grandson, Clayton Parker of Virginia Beach, Va. and a brother, David J. Beltz of Norwich.
Edward was preceded by his son, Thomas E. Beltz, in 1986 and his brother, William Beltz, in 2003.
The family requests any memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
A memorial service will be held in Norwich later this summer.
