SHERBURNE – Carol L. Risser, 62, of State Route 80, passed away Monday, August 19, 2013 at her home.
She was born November 7, 1950 in Lebanon, PA, a daughter of Calvin and Mary Light Wagner. She was a graduate of ELCO High School and Elizabethtown College. On October 17, 1970, Carol married Ronald A. Risser in Myerstown, PA. They moved to the Town of Columbus in 1979. Ronald predeceased her on November 18, 2007. Carol dedicated her life to community service as a social worker with the Chenango County Department of Social Services in Adult Services.
Surviving are her son, Michael A. Risser of Sherburne; sisters, Janet Myers of Winder, GA, and Gay Hitz of Enola, PA; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wilbur and Mary Lou Wagner, Kenneth and Joyce Wagner, and Erlene Wagner, all of Myerstown, PA; and Ann Wagner of Indiana; a brother-in-law, Allen Kintzer of Myerstown, PA; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two brothers, Robert and Richard Wagner, and a sister, Joyce Kintzer.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, August 24, 2013 from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
