Charles Crandall


SMYRNA – Charles James Crandall (11/10/1940-7/10/2013), of Sebring, FL entered peacefully into the arms of Jesus surrounded by his loving family at the Oaks Rehab Center in Avon Park, FL after fighting cancer for 21 months.
He was predeceased by his parents, James and Lillian Crandall of Smyrna, NY.
Survivors include his loving wife, whom he married on August 29, 1964, Nancy (Hodge) of Sebring, FL; two daughters, Beth Crandall of Kingston, PA, and Pam (Greg) Thomsen of Stillwater, NY. He has seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Also surviving are his siblings, Ada Symonds of Sebring, FL; Asa (Beatrice) Crandall of Norwich, NY; and Dr. David (Diana) Crandall of Mountain Top, PA. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
During his life he owned and operated the family farm in Smyrna, NY; and worked for Bennett Ireland in the maintenance department. He started his own commercial cleaning company, 4Cs Enterprise, which he ran for 25 years. In 2005, he went to Bangladesh as a short-term missionary serving as maintenance supervisor for Malumghat Christian Memorial Hospital. Once he returned from overseas, he and his wife Nancy moved to Sebring, FL where he worked for Maranatha Village on the maintenance staff.
Funeral services where held on July 13, 2013 at Maranatha Baptist Church in Sebring, FL.
A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. on July 23, 2013 at Calvary Baptist Church, Norwich, NY.
