Anthony Jones


NORWICH – Anthony Jones, 54, of Johnson City and a former resident of Norwich, passed away Tuesday, June 4, 2013, in Johnson City.
Anthony was born July 26, 1958 in Brooklyn, NY the son of Frank Jones and Barbara Turner, and was a graduate of the Franklin Kay Lane High School of Brooklyn. As a young boy he often traveled to the Oneonta area where he would visit his grandma. In 1988 he moved to the Norwich where he had been employed by Brightman’s Hardware and for the past 1 1/2 years has made his home in Binghamton where he had been employed as a call represenative for NCI of Vestal.
Anthony was a friendly and outgoing guy who just liked people. He enjoyed his guitar, singing, his fish which he cared for on a daily basis, bowling and a good game of chess.
Anthony is survived by his mother, Barbara Turner, of Baltimore; his wife, Wanda Williams Jones, of Binghamton; his children, Safiyah Jones, of Binghamton, Cory Jones, of Norwich, and Wendy and Gary Jones, both of Brooklyn; his stepfather, Herbert Fuller, of Scranton, PA; his sisters, Crystal Johnson and husband Norman, of Norwich, Lisa Vazquez and husband Christopher, and Yvonne Ellington and husband Mark, all of Charlotte, NC; and his brothers, Gregory Fuller, of Norwich, and Herby Fuller, of Binghamton. Also surviving are several grandchildren, nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Anthony was predeceased by his sister, Carolyn Buxton, and his brothers Daryll, Marvin and Raymond Jones.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on June 14 at the R.J.Fahy Funeral Home where reflections of his life will be offered.
