George Crain


SMYRNA – George W. Crain, 83, of West Main St., passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2013 at the Community Memorial Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility in Hamilton.
He was born November 4, 1929 in Fayetteville, NY, a son of George H. and Wilhelmina Altman Crain. He graduated from Sherburne Central School in 1948. George was veteran of the U.S. Army who served in the Korean War. On April 25, 1959 he married Sharon Cook at the United Church of Christ First Congregational in Sherburne. George worked for the Bennett-Ireland Corporation in Norwich until his retirement.
Surviving are his wife, Sharon; and a son, Warren E. Crain of Tacoma, WA. He was predeceased by his brother, David R. Crain.
In keeping with his wishes, there are no services or calling hours.
Contributions in his memory may be made to the Smyrna Public Library.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
