Lillian Lyon


MORRIS – Lillian M. Lyon, 96, of Morris and formerly of Chenango County passed away Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007 at her daughter’s home in Morris.
She was born in Earlville on Aug. 7, 1910 the daughter of Sidney Clyde Catlin and Pearl (Bidwell) Catlin. She married Wallace Lyon on Sept. 9, 1933 in Earlville. He died Nov. 17, 1996. She had been employed as a cook at the Sherburne Central School for many years and had also been employed at the Box factory in Earlville.
She was a long time member of the West Smyrna Baptist Church. Lillian was the mother of four children who are Arthur Lyon and wife Lucille of Earlville, Arlene Blood and husband Rev. George Blood of Eagle River, Alaska, Archie Lyon and wife Hilda of Lewisburg, tenn. And Alice Lyon of Morris. She is also survived by a sister Anna Leete of Earlville and 12 grandchildren and their spouses and 39 great grandchildren. She was predeceased by a brother Charles Leete in 1994.
Calling hours will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the West Smyrna Baptist Church until 11 a.m. at which time a funeral service will be held with the Rev. Ted Lawrence and the Rev. C. Norman Moran officiating. Burial will be in the Earlville Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.johnstonfh.com.
