NORWICH – Joyce Ann (Stone) Seifert, 58, of County Rd. 34, passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at her home.
She was born January 29, 1955 in Norwich, a daughter of Donald and Doris Schmidt Stone of Sherburne. Joyce attended Sherburne-Earlville Central School and graduated in 1974. She had worked at the Victory U-Fill-‘Em, Balch’s Department Store and Cheseboro Ponds in Sherburne. She then went on to work at Unison Industries in Norwich for 31 years, retiring in 2009 due to ill health. On March 21, 1981, Joyce married Gerald A. Seifert who survives.
Joyce was blessed to have her daughter, Jennifer, of Sherburne, who was extremely special to her and never more than a phone call away; her most precious granddaughter, Gabrielle, who, without a doubt, won Grandma’s heart the minute she was born and they spent many wonderful times together. Joyce also leaves a sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Dick Losee, Sherburne; her brothers and sisters-in-law, James and Brenda Stone of Sherburne; John and Lisa Stone of Columbus; nephews, Brian Losee, Travis Stone, Adam Stone, Tyler Stone, Jerry L. Stone, Jr., and nieces, Dawn Marie Stone and Lori Ann Stone. She also leaves an extended family including Margaret Foster of Smyrna; John and Liz Wonka and family of Oxford; and a special cousin, Robert Decker of South New Berlin. She was predeceased by a brother, Jerry L. Stone.
Joyce had a very special relationship with her sister, Judy, and they had a lot of fun shopping together with Brenda and Lisa, whether they got in the car or went on the Internet, always coming home with feet dragging and wonderful memories made.
Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Saturday from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
