Richard Armondi


EAST MCDONOUGH – Richard C. Armondi, 76, of Vice, FL (formally of Great Bend, PA), cherished husband, devoted father, and beloved PAPA passed away suddenly on February 23, 2013.
He was born in East McDonough, NY on July 5, 1936 to the late Victor and Ethel (Wilbur) Armondi. He graduated from Oxford Academy and was honorably discharged as a Sergeant from the Marines in October 1961. He was married to the love of his life Bettie for 56 years. He was an active member of his church and he enjoyed his family above all else. He loved golf, bowling, and taking his wife Bettie to the North Jetty to watch the dolphins jump. He was employed by Staples for 41 years.
Along with wife Bettie, he is survived by his loving children Richard and (Christine) Armondi, Mark and (Angie) Armondi and Sallie and (Dennis) Lewis; eight grandchildren – Richard, James, Jennifer, Christopher, Katherine, Andrew, Warren and Victor; four great grandchildren and a sister Marjory Jackson with many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his brothers – Don and Bob. His warm hugs, gentle touch and loving smile will be greatly missed. A Celebration of His Life will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Great Bend Methodist Church, Main Street, Great Bend, PA. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Majestic Ministries Memorial Fund 2800 Ashton Rd, Sarasota, FL 34231 in Richard’s honor.
