Wallace Reihl


SHERBURNE – Wallace K. Reihl, “Keith,” 73, of Sherburne, passed away on Friday, Jan. 19, 2007 at his home.
Keith was born in Oriskany Falls on March 13, 1933, the son of William and Beatrice (Kelly) Reihl. Following his graduation from the Norwich High School, he attended business school in Syracuse and then worked for a short time in Albany. For over 30 years, Keith was employed by the Norwich Shoe Company, from which he retired as an inspector when the company closed its doors. A hard worker, he continued to be active, working for McDonald’s until March of 2006. On Aug. 18, 1963, in Mt. Upton, Keith married Joan Eastwood. He was a family man who was fond of spending time with his kids and grandkids, enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sports and liked playing cards.
Keith is survived by his wife, Joan Reihl of Sherburne; by his children: Robin Schiffer and husband Michael of Willet, Brian Reihl and wife Tara of Sherburne, Kim DeMun and husband William of Gardner, N.C.; and Christopher Reihl and wife Jodie of Lynchburg, Va.; and by 19 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters: Betty Biviano of Oxford, Marlene Davis of Port St. Lucie, Fla.; Beatrice Heath and Bernice Whispell of Hoboken Sound, Fla.; Kay Drawdy and husband Norm of Port St. Lucie, and Swana Jean Loomis of Hiawassee, Ga.; and by his brothers, Leonard Reihl and wife Stella of Pitcher, Ronnie Reihl of Tennessee, Robert Sherman of Syracuse; and nieces and nephews. Keith was predeceased by his brothers and sisters: Carl, Charles, and Billy Reihl, Carlene Snyder and Corky Hagen
Funeral services for Keith will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Jeremy Stopford of Norwich will officiate. Interment will be at the convenience of Keith’s family. Friends may pay their respects at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Tues. evening from 7-9 p.m.
