Sheryl Mclain


TRIANGLE – Sheryl L. McLain, 48 of Triangle, passed away at home on Jan. 22, 2013. She was born on June 27, 1964, the daughter of the late Charles and Marion (Horton) Green.
She is survived by the father of her children, Robert McLain; her daughters Christina McLain and Rachel Eldred, and her son Justin McLain. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren, Natesha Green, Deven Ardis, Damien McCrady, Meiah Small, Kyle Eldred, Shuntay Eldred, Kalena Foster and Arianna McLain; her long time companion Frank Gerchman; her sisters Joanne Halstead, Sharon Cacala, Julie Griswold, and her brother Brian Green. Her mother-in-law Peggy Gorman, sisters-in-law Jill Romono, Patty Lindow, Shari Stiles and Rita Dunlap, and her brother-in-law Andy McLain, as well as several nieces and nephews also survive. She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Marion Green, her brothers William A. Dunlap and Gary L. Dunlap, as well as three brothers-in-law Richard McLain, Frank Cacala and Louis Halstead.
Sheryl was a loving mother and grandmother who always put her family first. Her children’s happiness was all that she wanted out of life. She would give the shirt off her back if someone needed it, and her smile and laughter could brighten even the cloudiest of days. Sheryl was a hard worker for her entire life. Whether she was working as a house keeper, putting in long hours at the factory, or enjoying her most rewarding job of all which was caring for the elderly, she always did it with a big heart.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Immaculate Conception Church, 1180 State Highway 206, Greene with the Rev. Charles Currie officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Kennedy Funeral Home, 21 North Chenango Street, Greene.
