Drusilla Losee


SHERBURNE – Drusilla E. “Duke” Losee, 78, of Shawler Brook Road, went to Heaven to join her husband on Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, after losing her fight with Peritoneal Mesothelioma Cancer and T-Cell Lymphoma
She was born March 4, 1934 in Rock City, IL, a daughter of Frank and Marybell Hitchner Mueller. At the age of 9, she moved from Rock City to the South Hamilton area and received her education at the Sherburne school. On June 25, 1954, Drusilla married Raymond W. Losee, Jr. in Sherburne. He predeceased her on Nov. 7, 1988.
“Duke” had worked hard all her life while raising eight children, and even worked the day she was first admitted to the hospital. She had worked at the Dog Food Plant, then at Sherwood Medical in Sherburne for 29 years. Following that, she was employed at Unison in Norwich for 10 years, and also worked for Jack Conklin CPA in Norwich. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother whose life revolved around her family. She was a member of the American Legion Post #876 Auxiliary of Sherburne.
Surviving are her children, Richard and JeriLynne Losee of Sherburne; Raymond, III and Lois Losee of Earlville; Christine Losee of Sherburne; Debbie Losee of Afton; Gene Losee of Sherburne; Mark and Wendy Losee of Syracuse; Robin and Oye Muckelroy of CA; and Nancy Losee of Sherburne; grandchildren, Meghann Losee, Joshua Losee, Sandra (Ray) Kohlhepp, Michael Lowe, Crystal Alsheimer, Jolene Frasier, Drusilla Relyea, Wayne White, Kyle Losee, Scott Losee, Ray P. Losee, Donyelle Losee, Adam Losee, Eugenia Muckelroy, Nicole (Arturo) Vera, Raymond C. (Kelly) Muckelroy and Isabella Losee; twelve great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rosetta Jaquay of Sherburne; Lillian Morgan of Lebanon; Edna and Franklin Johnson of Sherburne; Geneva and Robert Schultz of Earlville; Mildred and Lynn Doing of Earlville; Laurel and David Jennings of Sherburne; in-laws, Richard and Judy Losee, Sherburne; Ralph and Marion Losee, CA; Charlotte Short, Sherburne; Eleanor and John Morgan, Lebanon, Robert and Cheryl Losee, VA; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by three sisters, Bertha Mueller, Patricia Miller and Mabel Stagaman; and four brothers, George Mueller, Frank Muller, Frederick Muller and Raymond Muller.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Columbus Community Church, Rt. 80, Columbus.
Interment in the Poolville cemetery will be at the convenience of the family.
Friends are invited to call at the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne from 1-3 and 5-7 p.m. on Friday.
