Albert Cahill


OXFORD – Albert J. Cahill, 66, of Oxford, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Jan. 12, 2013, surrounded by those who dearly loved him. He was born on Dec. 18, 1946 in Paterson, N.J., a son of the late Albert and Ida (Smith) Cahill.
He is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Sandra (Horner) Cahill; his children Jimmy (Lissette) Cahill, Theresa Cahill, Tammy (Andrew) Pier, Tracy Cahill, Jackie (Michael) Gregory, and Tanya (Richard) Hunter; as well as his brother Gilbert (Marilyn) Cahill, his sister Dorothy (Carlos) Torres, and his sister-in-law Doris Cahill. Albert was also the loving grandfather to nineteen grandchildren; great grandfather of two great grandchildren, and a beloved uncle to several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Albert and Ida Cahill, his brother Charles Cahill, his brother Richard, and sisters Blanch, Helen, and Eleanor.
Albert enjoyed riding his bicycle around town, collecting commemorative U.S. coins, and trying to master the Pac-Man video game. He kept up on the local police and fire departments by listening to his scanner on a daily basis. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held at Behe Funeral Home, 21 Main Street, Oxford, at noon on Wednesday, with the Rev. Allen Lang of the United Church of Oxford officiating. Memories and condolences may be shared by visiting www.behefuneralhome.com.
