SMITHVILLE – Mildred Hill Auwarter, 87, of Smithville, died peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013.
She was predeceased by her husband, Frederick A. Auwarter; sister, Inez Pollard; and brother, Clifford Hill. She is survived by son, Brian Auwarter, two daughters and sons-in-law, Dr. Patricia and Terry Hale, Polly and Corey Wolford; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; in-laws, nieces and nephews.
Milly graduated from Greene Central School and attended Antioch College and Binghamton University. She was employed at the Greene Bank and Greene and Pleasantville School Districts. In recent years, she resided at Woodlawn Commons in Saratoga Springs. Milly was a member of Zion Episcopal Church, Greene. She was active in the Smithville Planning Board and Historical Society and the Greene Topics Club.
Funeral services will be held 3:30 p.m. on Sunday at Zion Episcopal Church, 10 N. Chenango Street, Greene. Friends of the family may call Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m at Zion Episcopal Church.
