EARLVILLE – Marian L. Morgan, 92, of West Main St., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013 at Community Memorial Hospital, Hamilton.
She was born Jan. 21, 1920 in Poolville, a daughter of Ernest and Iva Hazard Close and was a 1939 graduate of Earlville High School. On May 19, 1940, Marian married William R. Morgan in Earlville. He predeceased her on Feb. 7, 1980. Marian had worked for Dr. Drazek, DVM in Earlville and the Colgate American Management Association in Hamilton. She had also been a housekeeper for several area families.
Marian was a member of the First Baptist Church in Earlville and had been a Sunday school teacher. She was a former member of the Madinango Rebekah Lodge #563 of Earlville, and had been a Boy Scout leader in Earlville, Lebanon and Georgetown.
Surviving are her children, William R., III and Joyce Morgan of Earlville; Larry and Kathy Morgan of Hackettstown, NJ; Loretta Morgan of Newark Valley; Mary Ann and David Roe of Marathon; Anna and Brent Livingston of Earlville; Marie and Cliff Smith of Lebanon; nine grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a son Robert Morgan; a grandson, William Morgan, IV; a sister, Mildred Straight and a brother, Maurice Close.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Monday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
Spring interment will be in the West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Monday from 2 to 4 p.m. prior to the service.
