Robert Dinoto


NORWICH – Robert J. DiNoto, 73, of Norwich, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Dec. 23, 2012 at his home with his loving family by his side.
Born in Norwich on Aug. 13, 1939, Bob was the son of Salvatore and Josephine (Sastri) DiNoto. He attended Norwich schools and graduated from Norwich High School with the Class of 1959 after which he joined the United States Navy where he served for four years aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid. Following his discharge from active duty, Bob returned to Norwich and began working as an electrician for Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals and later, Procter & Gamble. He retired in 2001.
On Aug. 27, 1966, Bob married the former Marie Biviano, who survives. He is also survived by his two sons, Timothy DiNoto and his wife, Deborah, and their children, Dylan and Kaleigh, of Easton, PA and Thomas DiNoto and his wife, Tamora, and their children, Monica, Morgan, Joseph and Mia, of Albany. Bob is also survived by his sister, Josephine Lojewski, of Deerfield Beach, Fla. and his brother, James DiNoto and his wife, Pauline, of Endwell. Many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Bob was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Frank DiNoto.
Bob’s greatest love was his family. He was a very active man that could be found walking or riding his bike daily. He devoted himself to caring for his wife and children and spent much of his time caring for their needs and the needs of his friends. Bob loved playing tennis, especially with his grandchildren. He was very interested in the stock market and also loved to go camping and travelling with his family and friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Bob will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday at St. Bartholomew’s Church. Burial will take place in the spring in St. Paul’s Cemetery. Friends are invited to call at the Wilson Funeral Home on Sunday from 5-7 p.m.
