Daniel Vanwhy


GUILFORD – Daniel James VanWhy, 37, of Wells Bridge, passed away unexpectedly Thursday evening, Dec. 13, 2012 at his home.
Dan was born in Sidney on July 30, 1975 the son of Richard VanWhy and Donna Regaro VanWhy Smith. He grew up in the Guilford area and was a graduate of the Bainbridge-Guilford High School. Following his schooling he moved to Morgantown, N.C., where he made his home for several years. While living in Morgantown, Dan attended Piedmont College where he earned a degree as an electrical technician. In 2005 he decided to move back to the Afton-Sidney area. He worked a period of time for the Raymond Corp. and most recently had been employed by Amphenol as an CNC operator.
Dan was without question an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed his hunting and fishing.
He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Dan is survived by his children, Dustin Kyle VanWhy, Trevar Lee VanWhy both of Morgantown, NC, Jaedan James VanWhy and his mother Kelly Cornell of Bainbridge, his mother Donna Regaro VanWhy Smith and husband Larry of Mt. Upton, his father Richard VanWhy of Bainbridge, his sister Melissa Eubanks and companion John Harold Briggs of SC, and his brother Michael VanWhy of Mt. Upton.
Dan was predeceased by his brother, Richard VanWhy.
Funeral services for Dan will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday from the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Nancy Hale, pastor of the Broad Street United Methodist Church of Norwich, will officiate.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Saturday from 10-11 a.m.
