SHERBURNE – Gloria J. Guiles, 65, of Sherburne, passed away Tuesday, Nov. 27, 2012, at her home in Sherburne.
Gloria was born in Norwich on Aug. 13, 1947, the daughter of Robert J. and Minnie Beckwith Mowers. She spent the early years of her life in Oxford before moving to the Sherburne area with her family, where she attended the local schools. Gloria spent most of her life in Sherburne and had been employed by Kenyon Press for over 25 years.
Gloria was a wonderful, caring mom and a friend to all who knew her. She will be missed by everyone.
Gloria is survived by her children, Richard Guiles Jr. and fiancee Shannon Kennedy of Smyrna, Melissa Dye and husband Ronald Sr. of Norwich, Brenda Guiles and companion Mark Labonoski of Syracuse and Betsy Duerheimer and husband Todd of Singapore, her life long partner Richard Guiles, her sisters Lillian Russell of Smyrna, Kathy Sprowls and husband John of Texas, Patricia Woodcock and husband Chuck of Vernon and her brother Richard Mowers and companion Sara Crew of Earlville. Also surviving are her 11 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild her sister-in-law Irene Mowers and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Gloria was predeceased by her daughter SueAnn, her brother Robert J. Mowers, Jr. and Robert Mowers.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. There will be no formal services. Interment will be in the Riverview Cemetery of Oxford.
