Floyd Fox


GEORGETOWN/TOWN OF OTSELIC – Floyd E. “Tink” Fox, 85, of State Route 80, passed away Monday, Nov. 26, 2012 at UHS Chenango Memorial Hospital, Norwich.
He was born May 2, 1927 in Lincklaen, a son of Delancy and Martha Stearns Fox and was a graduate of local schools. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during World War II and the Korean Conflict. On March 2, 1957, Floyd married Gloria R. Manwarren in Otselic. He was a truck driver for Ken Coon Cartage in Syracuse, and later for Boston-Buffalo Express in Syracuse until his retirement. Floyd was a dedicated family man whose wife, children, grandchildren and pets were his pride and joy. He enjoyed snowmobiling, camping with his family, doing search word puzzles and watching the RFD Channel on TV.
Floyd was a member of the American Legion Post of South Otselic.
Surviving are his wife Gloria; his children, Sally and Bruce Perkins of DeRuyter, Tom Fox of Otselic; Steve and Debbie Fox of Norwich; Debbie Fox and Mike of S. Otselic; Ed and Kim Fox of N. Pitcher; sister and brother-in-law, Ethel and George Sutton of DeRuyter; nine grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. His favorite pets were his canine buddies, Dogg and Shelby, and his cat, Mittens. He was predeceased by four brothers, George Wyman, Howard, Nelson and Karl Fox.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne, followed by interment with military honors in the Maple Grove Cemetery, Otselic.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Thursday from noon to 2 p.m. prior to the service.
