Timothy O'reilly


GUILFORD – Timothy O’Reilly, 56, of Guilford, passed away Friday morning, Nov. 23, 2012, at his home in Guilford.
Tim was born on May 12, 1956 in Westerly, RI, the son of Joseph and Marie Blakesley O’Reilly. He grew up in Mystic, CT and at the age of 16 moved to Oxford where he graduated in 1974 from Oxford Academy High School. On June 17, 1977 Tim entered the Untied States Air Force, serving his country until his honorable discharge in June of 1981. He attained a four-year degree in business which led to a 30-year career with Sheffield’s Products and Kerry Bio Science. Beginning in production in 1982, Tim advanced his way to his current position of Vive President of Strategic Alliances for Kerry Bio. While traveling for work, he met and made many friends in various counties.
Tim’s demeanor led him to being a very successful and well respected business man. He loved the challenge of the ever changing business world.
Tim was a wonderful and supportive husband, an extraordinary father and grandfather. His “girls” were his life and he gave all that he had to his family. In his leisure time, Tim enjoyed reading, home renovations and doting on his granddaughters.
On April 26, 1975 he married Dianne Hatton, who survives.
Besides his wife Dianne, Tim is survived by his daughters, April Green and husband Kevin of Cooperstown, Dr. Jennifer O’Reilly of Guilford and his granddaughters Riley and Emma of Cooperstown. Also surviving are his sisters and brothers, Mary Kozek and husband Richard of Mystic, CT, Helena Jackson and husband Paul of Ithaca, Ann O’Reilly of Mystic, CT, his brothers Robert O’Reilly and wife Donna of Washington, Henry O’Reilly and wife Patrica of Westerly, RI, and William O’Reilly and wife Catha of North Carolina, and his sister-in-law Lillian O’Reilly of Keene, NH. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
Tim was predeceased by his parents Joseph and Marie and his brother Joseph O’Reilly.
Funeral services for Tim will be held at noon on Friday at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home. The Rev. Kurt Funke will officiate.
Friends may call at the R.J. Fahy Funeral Home on Thursday from 5-7 p.m. and again on Friday from 10 a.m. to noon.
