SMITHVILLE FLATS – Carl E. Parks, 71, died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 after a long battle with cancer, with his family by his side.
Carl was a long time resident of Smithville Flats and Bushnell, Florida. He was an avid “horse puller” involved in horse pulls both in New York and Florida.
He is survived by the mother of his children, Barbara J. Parks; four sons, Duane (Kim) Parks, Jeffery (Nan) Parks, Mark (Cheryl) Parks and Brian James Parks; four brothers, Robert Parks, Venice Center; Ronnie Parks, McDonough; Gary Parks, Sarasota and Larry Parks, Parrish, Florida; three sisters, Sheila Grant, Myakka City, JoAnn Brewer, Greene, and Kay Vantassell, Binghamton; seven grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
A memorial service will be scheduled this spring.
