JEAN VERDOW
SYRACUSE – Jean A. (Pike) VerDow, 93, passed away on Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012 at Loretto Cunningham. She graduated from Eastwood High School and had worked at F.W. Woolworth in Eastwood. Jean was an avid square dancer and a member of the Jamesville Community Church.
Jean is survived by her beloved children, Winfield of Grayslake, IL and Connie of Syracuse, NY in addition to many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lloyd Pike and Conrada (Williams) Pike and by her husband of 52 years, Winfield, in 2004.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in Jean’s memory may be made to either the Alzheimer’s Assn., 441 West Kirkpatrick St., Syracuse, NY 13204 or to Aurora of CNY, 518 James St., Suite 100, Syracuse, NY 13203.
Friends may call on Monday from 4-7 p.m. at Krueger Funeral Home, 2619 Brewerton Rd., Mattydale, with funeral services following at 7 p.m. Burial will be on Tuesday, 11 a.m. in Newark Cemetery, Newark, NY.
