NORWICH – David Hamsley Auchmoody, 57, of Norwich, passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007 at his home.
Born Nov. 11, 1949 in Hanover, N.H., David was the son of Walter and Harriet Jandro Hamsley. A veteran of the United States Marine Corps, he served his country from November 1967 until his honorable discharge in March 1968, at which time David came to the Norwich area where he made his home until his passing. Over the years he had lived in several areas of the country and had been a truck driver for Warner Enterprises.
David is survived by his children: David Ray Auchmoody of Martville, Tabatha Marie Holl of Cortland, Heidi Marie Hamsley, Bethann Hamsley both of Georgia and David Ray Hamsley II of Michigan; several grandchildren; his sisters: Charlotte Catalino of Norwich, Marjorie Herbert of Plymouth and Sharon Westcott of South Plymouth; his brother Warren Auchmoody of Marathon and his companion Janine Kilmer of Norwich. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.
David was predeceased by his children: Heather Marie Hansley, Tracy Dale Hamsley, Shawn Michael Hamsley and Diana Marie Auchmoody his grandson Dallas A. Auchmoody and his brother Walter Auchmoody.
Graveside services for David will be held in the spring from the Maplegrove Cemetery of Otselic.
