Lloyd Sutton


SOLSVILLE – Our family mourns the passing of the family patriarch. Mr. Lloyd K. Sutton began his after-life on Sunday, Jan. 7, 2007.
Lloyd was born on Aug. 6, 1926 in Norwich the son of Robert and Lottie Louise Root Sutton. On July 17, 1947, he married Frances Nellie Tripp. Their loving union lasted over 52 years until Nellie’s passing in 1999. In 1945, Lloyd served his County by enlisting in the Army Air Corps. He remained serving in the Army Air Corps as it transitioned into the United States Air Force. He served his County during World War II, Korean, and the Vietnam Wars. He retired in 1966 with 21 years of service. He later went on to work at Frederick Comfort Systems formerly, International Heater of Utica, retiring in 1988. Lloyd was a member of the Helmuth-Ingalls Post 232 of the America Legion in Clinton.
Lloyd is survived by three daughters, Marlene Mohrbacker and her husband, Richard of Bridgewater, Anita Guss and her husband, Dick of Zanesville, Ohio, and Linda Erickson of West Winfield, two sons, LaVern Sutton of Abilene, Texas, and Lloyd A. Sutton of Solsville, 15 grand children and many great-grandchildren. His one remaining cousin, June Jenkins of Palatka, Fla., two sisters-in-law, Althema Young of Masonville and Edna Cain of Alabama also survive Lloyd, as do numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Lloyd’s life will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison, located at 3592 South Street. There will be no calling hours.
