Rose Brigham


NEW BERLIN – Rose Eastman Brigham, 77, a resident of the Chase Nursing Home, and formerly of Madison, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2012, at Bassett Hospital in Cooperstown.
Rosie was born on June 27, 1935, in Madison, to Albert and Catharine Finn Eastman. She grew up in Madison and attended Madison High School. Rosie had worked at the Fashion Label Store, located in Norwich. She will best be remembered for being a passionate Yankees fan and her love of pets. Rosie also enjoyed the company of her mealtime pals at Chase Nursing Home and sneaking treats to the resident cats.
Rosie is survived by a daughter, Lori Bemis Welsh and grandchildren Brynna and Ethan Welsh of Cortland; sisters and brothers-in-law Pete and Kathy Burns of Vernon Center and Don and Sally Morgan of Hamilton; brothers and sisters-in-law Jake and Bev Eastman of Liverpool, Donn and Chris Eastman of Hamilton, and Bobby and Nancy Eastman of Madison; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Rosie is predeceased by sister Trudy Suits and brothers Bill, Pepper and Art Eastman.
Calling hours will be held noon to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Paul Funeral Home of Madison. Services will commence at 2 p.m. with interment to follow in Madison Cemetery.
