OXFORD – Robert D. Wilson Sr., 68, of Grant Street, passed away at home on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, following a battle with lung cancer.
He was born Nov. 5, 1943 in Hubbardsville, a son of Eugene and Dorothy Kimball Wilson and received his education in Earlville schools. Bobby was a Vietnam veteran where he served two tours of duty with the U.S. Army. He received the Vietnam Cross of Gallantry, 3 Bronze Stars, National Defense Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal and Two Purple Hearts. He was an independent truck driver for many years.
He leaves his companion, Kathy Lonfair (Carnie); a son Robert Jr. of Florida; a daughter Sonya of Norwich, 4 grandchildren, 5 step-grandchildren, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.
In keeping with his with his wishes, there will be no services or calling hours.
