Phyllis Turner


SHERBURNE – Phyllis C. Turner, 81, of North Main St., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012 at her home.
She was born on Feb. 18, 1931 in Buffalo, a daughter of Phillip Sr., and Mildred Morton Crippen and was a graduate of Sherburne High School. On June 25, 1954, Phyllis married Duane “Red” Turner in Sherburne. He predeceased her on April 17, 2004. A lifetime Sherburne resident, Phyllis had worked at Chenango Valley Pet Foods for over ten years until her retirement in 1998. Her most precious times were spent at family events and she enjoyed traveling. She also donated her time as a volunteer to the Red Cross blood drives for many years.
Phyllis was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Sherburne and the Order of the Eastern Star Tiandara Chapter #631 of Sherburne.
Surviving are her children, Mark and Linda Turner of Scottsville; Eric and Kathleen Turner of Sherburne; Rick and Sandra Turner of Bloomfield; Deborah and Scott Munro of Liberty, OH; a son-in-law, Larry Stach of West Chester, OH; her sister, Jean Knapp of Sherburne; 17 grandchildren, and 3 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Joanne Stach in February 2011, and a brother, Phillip Crippen, Jr.
Funeral services will be private at the convenience of her family from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 10 S. Main St., Sherburne.
Interment will be in West Hill Cemetery, Sherburne.
Friends are invited to call at the funeral home on Friday from 7 to 9 p.m.
