Louise Wilcox


NORWICH – Louise A. Wilcox, 83, a long time resident of Norwich, passed away Friday evening, Aug.3, 2012, in the Chenango Memorial Hospital of Norwich.
Louise was born on Oct .7, 1928 in St. Regis Falls, the daughter of Joseph and Rose Brisbois Boucher. She grew up in St. Regis Falls where she attended the local schools. On May 1, 1954 in St. Regis Falls, she married Grant Wilcox and in 1955 they moved to Norwich where they have made their home since that time. While living in Norwich she had been employed as a cashier for the A&P store for over 30 years. Over the years Louise has enjoyed her traveling, attending productions at the Council of the Arts and was a long time member of St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church.
Louise is survived by her husband Grant of Norwich, her sisters, Beatrice Jones of South Carolina, Vivian Tyler of Lee Center, and Helen Bovee of Camden. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Louise was predeceased by her sisters Mary Plunkett and Irene Listovitch.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Louise will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday from St. Bartholomew’s Catholic Church. The Rev. Ralph A. Bove, pastor, will officiate. Interment will take place on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. in St. Ann’s Cemetery of St. Regis Falls.
There will be no calling hours.
