GREENE – Odessa Smith, 70, of Greene, passed away on Saturday, July 28, 2012, after a long battle with leukemia.
She was predeceased by a daughter, Susan; son, Paul; two grandsons and two brothers, Clifford and Fred Miller. Odessa is survived by her husband of 45 years, Frank; children, Kenneth and Carol Smith of Unadilla, Gary and Virginia Smith of Greene, Keith and Carol Smith of Oriskany Falls, Nancy and Richard Wade of Bloomfield; 11 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 3 sisters; a brother; several nieces and nephews.
Odessa raised her family while helping to run their family farm. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday at Root Funeral Home. Burial will be in Sylvan Lawn Cemetery, Greene. Friends of the family may call Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Root Funeral Home 23 North Chenango Street, Greene.
