Gladys Svenson


EARLVILLE – Gladys M. Svenson, 94, of Abbott Ave., passed away Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse.
She was born March 3, 1918 in Hubbardsville, a daughter of Frank L. and Zula Bryant Sprague. She received her early education in the Hubbardsville School District and then attended Hamilton High School. On Aug. 25, 1954, Gladys married Arthur Svenson in Hamilton. He predeceased her on May 18, 1969. A resident of Earlville since her marriage, Gladys worked at GLA in Norwich for 31 years until her retirement in 1981. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Earlville.
Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Marie and Clifford Reese Jr. of Syracuse; grandchildren, Scott and Lisa Reese of Vicksburg, MS; Michael and Terri Reese of Waterloo; Lisa Reese White of Syracuse; great-grandchildren, Renee Tucker and her boyfriend Matt Dorrett of Vicksburg; Heather Hampsey and her fiancé, Mike Nurin of Syracuse; Rebecca Caitlin and Devon Reese of Waterloo; Taylor, Dakota and Jordan White of Syracuse; two great-great-grandchildren, Lane and Mason Tucker; and several nieces and nephews. Also surviving is a special friend, Terri Larkin and her family. A step-son, Arthur Svenson Jr. predeceased her in 1959.
Friends and family are invited to join in a luncheon and a celebration of Gladys’ life at 1 p.m. on Saturday at 11 Abbott Ave., Earlville.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 3 Preston St., Earlville.
