Fabio Boyer


NORWICH – Fabio A. “Pat” Boyer, 87, of Howard Street, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Norwich Rehabilitation and Nursing Center.
Born in St. Remi, Quebec, Pat was the son of Henry and Emerentience (LeFeve) Boyer. He spent his early life in Quebec and came to the United States in 1947 where he lived in Oxford for a short time before moving to Norwich in the early 1950s. He owned a dairy farm for several years and then joined Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceuticals, where he served as a supervisor in the packing department. He retired in 1983. Pat later worked part-time for St. Paul’s School and church and at the Wilson Funeral Home. He also devoted time as a volunteer at the Norwich Elk’s Lodge and the former Astoria Savings Bank.
Pat was a communicant of St. Paul’s Church and a member of the Norwich Elk’s Lodge and the Norwich-Eaton Pharmaceutical Quarter Century Club.
On May 11, 1946, Pat married Rita I. (Barriere) Boyer, who survives. Also surviving are his daughter, Lorraine Boyer of Liverpool; two sons, Michael Boyer and his wife, Linda, of Kingston, and Donald Boyer and his fiancé, Mary Bopp of Rochester; a daughter-in-law, Pam Boyer of Norwich; six grandchildren, Jim Boyer, Bryan & Ailisa Boyer, Brenda and Cesar Rosado, Kevin Boyer, Kara & John Tallardy and Katie Boyer; two great grandchildren, Alex Rosado and Bodie Tallardy; two sisters, Laurette Rivet of St. Remi, Canada and Jeanette Crotteau, of Quebec City, Canada. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Pat was predeceased by a son, Re-al Boyer, three brothers, Roger, Roland and Rosaier Boyer and a sister, Colombe Lemieux.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Pat will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday at St. Paul’s Church. Burial will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery. There will be no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Pat may be made to Hospice of Chenango County, 21 Hayes Street, Norwich, NY 13815 or to St. Paul’s Church, 30 Pleasant St., Norwich, NY 13815.
